Transportation Changes
Students may only have 1 mode of transportation home.
If you need your child's transportation, please send in a note the morning of the change. If you need to make a change during the school day, you may either fax the school a note or come up to school and make the change through the front office. If you fax a note, I encourage you to call the front office to make sure the office received the fax.
Thank you for your understanding.

Birthday Treats
**Due to strict  nutritional guidelines and allergy concerns, only store bought treats will be passed out on birthdays; thank you for understanding!
**The treats will be passed out at our lunch time, 12:15
You do not need to let me know ahead of time that you are bringing or sending in treats. They can only be passed out to children that are in our classroom. Please do not bring extras for friends in other second grade classes.~
We have 20 students in Section 22.
**Please make sure the treats are easy to pass out...your child will be the one that will give them to their classmates.~Individual servings are the best choice...cookies, small or mini-cupcakes, pre-cut brownies.
*"Half birthdays" are encouraged for summer birthdays!!*
                                                                                                Thank you!

Lunch information:
Please know we (second grade teachers) encourage and welcome visitors at Galatas. When visiting during lunch, please understand we only have enough room at our lunch tables for 24 students to sit. We do have a special 'reserved' area for students and their parents to sit if you choose to visit during lunch. This table is located in the center of the cafeteria. (Your child is aware of the location of this table.) In the event that the reserved table is full, your child will sit at their assigned table, and we kindly ask you stand behind your child if there is no room to sit next to them.

Students may bring a lunch from home or purchase one from our cafeteria.~ The standard lunch cost $2.55.~ You may prepay for lunches at www.myschoolbucks.com.~ We welcome parents to join their child for lunch, but ask that you please allow them at least the~first~week to become familiar with our procedures before joining them.~ We have parent volunteers from our PTO here the first week to assist our younger students with this process.

Second grade does have snack time daily. Your child may bring a snack the first day of school. It is very important that this snack is something nutritious and easy to eat in a carpeted classroom. Appropriate snack ideas: cheese, apple slices, banana, grapes, crackers, veggies...Please do not send chips, ranch to dip veggies in, or foods that require a spoon/fork. Fruit snacks and sugary snacks/dessert items are discouraged at snack time- please no chips, cookies, cookie bars or candy.

Donations for the class:
Freezer bags—all sizes
Snack bags
Sandwich bags
Treasure chest items
Glue bottles
Paper Towels
From time to time I may send out an email asking for additional things
