We continue to teach Addition and Subtraction in Math, and blends in phonics.

Homework will be sent home with your child every Monday. Please have your child do as much as they can individually and offer them guidance as needed. Pencil and crayons are preferred! Return homework to school each Friday.
In addition to homework that is sent home weekly, it is essential to read at home every day! Read to your child so they learn what fluent reading sounds like and practice comprehension skills. Also, have your child read to you. Make sure they are reading just right books for them!
Thank you for helping your child be the best possible student and learner they can be! We want them to reach their highest potential!
**Students should be practicing Sight Words each day. Once mastered, they should continue practicing for a week. Plain (all the same color) index cards with black lettering are best.
Have your child keep their library books in their backpacks when they are not reading them! That way they will have them on Library day.
**Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate shoes to school. They should not wear flip flops, sandals, high heeled shoes, etc. They go to PE and recess daily and need to have shoes that keep their feet protected and allow them to run, climb, etc.
Please check your child's red PAWS folder every day for important notes and information, the daily behavior sheet, your turn on the snack calendar, and class work. This folder needs to come to school every day! Also remember to put a change of clothes in a Ziploc bag (labeled with your child's name) in your child's backpack. You never know when a change of clothes will be needed!
The best water bottle for students in class is a sports top type water bottle. Water is the only drink in class water bottles.
Box Tops for Education:
Also, remember to collect Box Tops for Education!! They will be collected each month throughout the school year.
